Our End of Year Concerts will be held on Sunday the 7th of December at 2:00pm and 5:00pm

ATTENDANCE & PARTICIPATION

All students participate in our End of Year Concert and students work on these routines each week in class, developing their skills in the process and learning the importance of rehearsal, commitment, performance techniques and teamwork.

In terms of attendance, it is very important that students do not miss any of their scheduled classes between now and concert time so they can spend their rehearsal time together to perform their routines, feel confident and look amazing. Of course, this is only if it can’t be helped and in line with studio guidelines. If for any reason your child will miss a number of their regular classes in Term 4, we ask that you contact reception to let us know in advance.

If there is any reason why your child will not be able to perform at the concert on the dates and times provided, please let us know so we can make amendments to the class routines involving them.

CONCERT FEE

A concert fee of $60.00 per student will be payable. For families with multiple children, we’re offering a discounted rate of $50 per student. This will be included in your weekly direct debit on Monday the 10th of November. Students who have not paid their concert fee will be unable to perform in the concert

Please Note: Our concert fee is all-inclusive and covers a range of special items to make the experience memorable for both dancers and families. This includes:

- An Uptempo FINALE T-shirt

- Snacks and activities for the children on the night

- A trophy for every student as part of our awards presentation

- A professionally recorded concert video, with a link provided so you can treasure the memories for years to come

CONCERT TSHIRT & MEMORABILIA

CONCERT TSHIRT

All students will receive a concert commemorative t-shirt, included as part of their Concert Fee. Teachers have already taken each student’s size, based on the costume sizing that has been provided, to ensure the best fit.

These special t-shirts will be handed out together with costumes, ready to wear for our FINALE!

CONCERT MEMORABILIA

VIDEOS

We engage the services of a Professional Videographer. All parents will receive a digital download of their dancers show included as a part of your concert fee. All parents will be emailed with a unique log in which will enable you to view and download the concert videos at home.

If you have recently changed emails, please drop us an email at [email protected] to ensure we have an up to date email address for you and you don’t miss out.

Concert videos will be emailed out early January and will be available for 4 weeks only to download.

REHEARSAL WEEK

November 24th-29th 2025

At Uptempo Dance Studios we understand that the end of year is a busy time for families and as such we will not hold a separate rehearsal day but instead hold a Rehearsal week in normal class time! During rehearsal week students will have full dress rehearsals and run throughs in costume.

Students need to do the following for dress rehearsal week:

Wear Dance undergarments that would be worn on concert day (see further information detailed later in "what to wear")

NO hair or makeup is required

Students will receive their Commemorative Finale Tshirts handed out in classes this week (see more info below)

CONCERT DAY PROCEDURES

DROP OFF & PICK UP –

On concert day, all students will remain backstage with our team for the duration of both shows and we kindly ask that students arrive with hair and makeup already done.

Student arrival Time: 1:00 PM (1 hour before the first show)
Show 1: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Show 2: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Due to the short turnaround time between shows, students will stay backstage with us. We will provide snacks, lots of activities, and full supervision to ensure they are comfortable and entertained.

If you would prefer to take your child after the first show for a short break, that is absolutely fine. We just ask that they return to the theatre by 4:15 PM so they are ready for the second performance.

A Note for Lil Groovers Families:

We understand this may be a long afternoon for our little ones, so parents are welcome to:

- Collect your Lil Groover as soon as they have finished their dance
OR

- Bring them into the theatre to watch the rest of the concert with you — if you would like them to stay and watch, simply purchase an additional ticket for them.

During the dropping off times, we ask that one parent/guardian comes with their child into the drop off area (you will be directed once inside the venue).

All students will need to be picked up from the drop off point after the show. Students will stay in this location and need to have their name marked off by our team.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask us. We will ensure that we talk you through the concert day procedure again in the weeks leading up to the concert.

SECURITY & STUDENT SAFETY

As always, the safety of our dance family is our #1 priority. On concert day all students will need to be signed in / out of security lists to gain access backstage. Only staff and registered parent helpers are permitted backstage. Please make sure they have everything before they come backstage for rehearsal and the recital/concert. We do this to protect the students, so we ask that you please respect this policy. Please try not to bring anything valuable, especially electronic devices for the younger ones.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS

If your child has any Medical Conditions that may require attention whilst in our care or are carrying any medication with them, please notify our supervisors when you sign in.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING

WHAT TO WEAR

Students are to arrive dressed in their Finale costume, which will be their concert t-shirt paired with black bottoms of any kind (shorts, leggings, skirts — whatever they love!)

COSTUMES

We’re so excited that every child will have their very own costume to shine in on stage this year — this is such a special part of the concert experience!

To make this as affordable and stress-free as possible, we’ve kept costs low:

$45 per costume for regular classes

$30 per costume for Lil Groovers

The best part? All accessories are included, so on the day all you’ll need to bring is the correct footwear — we’ll take care of the rest!

Please note the following classes will be sourcing their own costumes instead of a concert costume fee:

Junior Hip Hop – Denim and white theme: think denim jackets, jeans, shorts, and white t-shirts. Double denim/90s look encouraged!

Senior Hip Hop – Please chat with Miss Charlie in class for inspiration pics.

Lil Groovers Jazz – Lil Groovers unitard (we will provide accessories).

Intermediate / Lil Groovers Tumbling – Any Uptempo uniform.

We can’t wait to see our dancers looking and feeling amazing in their costumes for this year’s concert. It’s going to be such a memorable celebration.

All costumes will be tried on in class and taken to the venue on the concert day. The children are then able to take home and keep their costume after the concert!

FINALE COSTUME

All students will be provided with a commemorative t-shirt and can wear any black bottoms! No shoes are required!

SHOES

Jazz - black jazz shoes

Ballet - Pink ballet shoes

Contemporary - No shoes

Hip Hop - Any WHITE sneakers or skate shoes

Acro - No shoes

Musical Theatre - White sneakers of any kind

UNDERWEAR

Please be aware that under stage lights, dark coloured or patterned underwear does not look good under light coloured costumes. Please make sure your child is wearing flesh coloured underwear.

HAIR

Dancers will require a Slick High Pony.

You will need to use a lot of hairspray/gel and a fine tooth comb to achieve the slick look and possibly multiple elastics. Please also use an elastic the same colour as their hair.

Please note, for boys neat and tidy hair is all that is required. No colours or crazy hairstyles please.

MAKEUP

Stage makeup needs to be heavier than normal day makeup. Please try not to cake it on or make it look like a mask as this does not look natural on stage.

Apply make-up base. Foundation needs to be darker than what their normal shade would be. Apply pinkish brown tone blush to cheekbones.

Apply pink/brown eye shadow on lid – work from the inside corner along the lash line. You may also like to use white under the brow to highlight.

Define the eyes with black eyeliner pencil. Use along the top and bottom lash lines.

Add lots of black mascara to both top and bottom lashes.

Apply red lipstick.

Please note, boys are not required to wear makeup and Pre schoolers just very light makeup required and lip gloss.

JEWELLERY AND NAIL POLISH

No Jewellery is to be worn (including earrings), please leave all jewellery at home. Also, please remove all nail polish.

WHAT TO BRING

FOOD & DRINK

Please bring a labelled water bottle and we will provide snacks on the night.

PACKING CHECKLIST

-Stockings and dance underwear (wear on arrival)

-Concert t-shirt and black bottoms for finale (wear on arrival)

-Correct Shoes

-Water, water and more water

COSTUMES

Costumes are an exciting and important part of our End of Year Concerts but we have aimed to make this as cost effective for parents as possible. There will be a $45.00 fee for each costume which will be taken out of your account on Thursday 9th of October. Lil Groovers costume fee is $30.00. Students will receive their costume on the day of the concert and get to keep these afterwards. This will include ALL accessories, you will not need to bring anything except the correct footwear.

The following classes will NOT be charged a costume fee and must provide their own costume on the night:

Junior Hip Hop - Denim and white, anything from denim jackets/jeans/shorts/white t shirt etc. Double denim/90s look!

Senior Hip Hop - Please speak to Miss Charlie in class for inspiration pics
